Play is the largest wireless carrier in the Polish market with a 29% market share, 15.0m subscribers and revenue of €1.6bn.
Iliad launched a takeover bid for Play on September 21st at a price of PLN 39 per share. This translated into to a price for 100% of the company of €2.2bn, or €3.5bn including debt. The Iliad and Play transaction closed in November 2020.
